How To Get Easy, Nutritious Smoothies On The Go

how-to-get-easy-nutritious-smoothies-on-the-go

How many times have you said this to yourself? I have too many times. The guilt sets in when I have to bring the once beautiful, but now rotting, produce to the compost.

The cycle goes a little like this…I menu plan for the week ahead, and say “this week I’m going to make my smoothies in the morning!”

I pick out all the wonderful organic fruits and veggies at the store or farmer’s market, and lovingly place them into the fridge and take a moment to admire the beautiful colors, taking pride in how healthy the coming week will be.

Monday morning comes, I get up early, jump in the shower, get dressed and head downstairs to make sure I have enough time to prep for my smoothie.

Just as I start the process, my daughter wakes up, and the dog needs to be fed. I go back upstairs to help my daughter get her school clothes and make her breakfast, let the dog out then look at the clock and run upstairs to finish getting myself ready.

Ack! Now it’s time to head out the door, and no smoothie in hand. “Oh well, I’ll make it tomorrow.”

Before I know it, it’s the end of the week and I only managed to make one smoothie, and the produce has seen better days. Classic story.

I’ve tried some of the pre-made frozen smoothie blends, and while they may cut down on the prep time, they take up all of my freezer space.

When I heard of the new freeze-dried smoothie blends from Everipe, I was intrigued and contacted the company.

Organic, plant-based smoothies that are preservative free, gluten free and most importantly for me, dairy free. The best part is that they are shipped to you, and are stored in your pantry. No freezer required, so they don’t leave me with a freezer shipping box that then have to figure out how to recycle.

POST-YOGA SMOOTHIE

After my yoga sessions, I like to have a smoothie or juice to hydrate and replenish. I have a tendency to crave green smoothies, so the first Everipe smoothie that I tried was the Greens with Envy smoothie.

The combination of Kale, hulled hearts, chia seeds and chlorella give this blend a nutrient and antioxidant rich base.

The instructions for blending state that you only need ice cubes and water, and that is true as these blends are very flavorful. Additionally, I like to blend mine with frozen pineapple, ice and coconut water. I also use my Ninja Pro which lets be blend it directly in my to go cup, which is a life-saver when I’m rushing out the door.

MORNING ROUTINE

The ease of making Everipe smoothies allows me to have my smoothie in the morning, even if we’re running late – which is common.

On this day, we were trying to get out the door and I was able to blend and pour-to-go the Unbelievaberry smoothie in 3 minutes flat!

The beet root, mangoes, raspberries and blueberries in this mix are delicious, and just what I need to get me going in the morning.

WEEKEND WELLNESS

My daughter is almost 8 and she and I love to cook together. We both love smoothies, and she also loves the Everipe flavor combinations, and is able to make these almost entirely on her own.

This whole past week, I’ve been struggling with a nasty virus that has been going around. My daughter and I chose to try the Ripe Rebound this weekend. I could use a little rebound from the last week, and the ginger, bee pollen and turmeric in this blend help to fight inflammation, while the pineapple, mango and hulled hearts provide the much needed boost of Vitamin C and antioxidants that my body is craving.

The Everipe smoothies are a great addition to your pantry, and you will always have access to a tasty and healthy treat.

If your curious to try them out, the team at Everipe.com was generous and provided an exclusive discount code for you all!

Use code FRECKLES20 for 20% off your order!

I would recommend getting the Variety Pack to start so you can try them all.

I would love to hear your comments, and tell me YOUR favorite smoothie blends, especially if you try the Everipe smoothies. I’m going to be trying different combinations and nut milks or bases, and I’ll keep you all posted with my favorites!

While Everipe did provide the smoothies to me in order to do my review, I contacted them initially and after speaking to one of the co-founders, I am proud to provide my review and my opinions are my own.
